Pampanga Extends Support to Over 1,000 OFW Families Impacted by Middle East Conflict
In a significant humanitarian effort, the provincial government of Pampanga has provided crucial aid to 1,038 families of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) whose livelihoods have been disrupted by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The distribution took place on Tuesday, March 31, with Governor Lilia Pineda personally overseeing the event in Mexico, Pampanga.
Comprehensive Assistance Package Delivered
Each beneficiary family received a financial grant of P4,000, sourced from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), along with one sack of rice provided directly by the provincial government. This dual support aims to alleviate immediate economic hardships faced by these households, ensuring both monetary relief and essential food security during these challenging times.
Coordinated Identification and Distribution Process
The recipients were carefully identified through a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies. The provincial government worked closely with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to verify and select families most in need.
