Pampanga Police Net ₱267M in Drugs, Arrest 335 Suspects

In a sweeping month-long crackdown that has significantly disrupted narcotics operations in Central Luzon, police authorities have confiscated an astonishing ₱267 million worth of illegal substances, dealing a massive blow to drug syndicates operating in the region.

The intensive anti-drug operations, which spanned across Pampanga province throughout April, resulted in the apprehension of 335 individuals allegedly involved in drug-related activities. According to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the campaign demonstrates the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to combat the illegal drug trade.

Massive Drug Haul Details

Law enforcement officials reported that the confiscated substances included approximately 39,250 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) with an estimated street value of ₱266.9 million. Additionally, police seized 1,090 grams of marijuana valued at ₱130,800, bringing the total value of seized contraband to an impressive ₱267,030,800.

The operations comprised 245 separate anti-drug missions, showcasing the comprehensive nature of the police campaign against narcotics distribution networks throughout the province.

Strategic Police Operations

Brig. Gen. Hidalgo emphasized that the successful operations were the result of coordinated intelligence-driven efforts. "Our personnel have been working tirelessly to identify and dismantle drug networks operating in our communities," he stated.

The police operations utilized various strategies including:

  • Buy-bust operations targeting street-level dealers
  • Service of search warrants on suspected drug dens
  • Checkpoint operations intercepting drug shipments
  • Intelligence-led raids on storage facilities

Community Impact and Future Efforts

Police authorities highlighted that the massive drug seizure represents a significant disruption to the supply chain of illegal substances in Central Luzon. The removal of these drugs from circulation potentially prevents thousands of drug abuse cases and related criminal activities.

"We are sending a clear message to drug personalities that Central Luzon is not a safe haven for their illegal activities," Hidalgo warned. He also urged community members to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting suspicious activities through various police hotlines and platforms.

The Philippine National Police has committed to sustaining the momentum of their anti-drug campaign, with plans to intensify operations in areas identified as drug hotspots based on continuous monitoring and community reports.
