Paquito and Joyce Dizon Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage with Grand Golden Anniversary
Fifty years of marriage represent a profound testament to enduring love and commitment, a milestone truly worthy of celebration. Francisco "Paquito" and Joyce (Garcia) Dizon recently reached this golden mark, commemorating their journey together with a splendid Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration at Casino Español. The event was meticulously organized by their three daughters, who reside in different parts of the globe: Marla Dizon Ewart from New York, Carissa Dizon Gajria based in Singapore, and Diana Dizon Aniag living in Hong Kong.
A Family Affair
The celebration was a heartfelt family gathering, bringing together multiple generations. Joyce was joined by her daughters Diana, Marla, and Carissa, showcasing the strong familial bonds. A family photo captured the golden couple with their daughters and their families. From left, daughter Marla was present without her husband Joe, who remained in New York with their sons James and Michael. Daughter Diana attended with her husband Jam Aniag and their sons Marcus and Alex, while daughter Carissa was accompanied by her husband Nitin Gajria and their sons Veer and Aarav.

The guest list was a blend of relatives, close friends, and distinguished individuals, many of whom traveled from Manila specifically for the occasion. Notable attendees included former Philippine Ambassador to the USA and past governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Joey Cuisia along with his wife Vicky. Other guests featured Ernest Villareal, Ed Reyes, and Paquito's brother Manoling with his wife Ina. The event also welcomed Joyce's former classmates from St. Theresa's College, including Tina, Teresa, Deena, Susan, Mitos, Monalee, Sayong, Marose, Mildred, Marilou, Vilma, Ann Clara, Ruth, and Pita.
Additional guests from Manila included Herbert and Gina Consunji, Ditas Villareal, and Joyce's Maryknoll College dorm mates Annie Malvar Molina and Carmen Prieto. Festive Atmosphere and Program
The ballroom was adorned with elegant arches of white and yellow flowers, creating a joyful and festive ambiance. The evening commenced with heartfelt prayers offered by Msgr. Roberto Alesna, a longtime family friend, followed by a sumptuous buffet dinner featuring Casino Español specialties.
The program was filled with memorable performances and activities. Grandchildren Veer Gajria sang a song, though his brother Aarav was too shy to participate, while Marcus and Alex Aniag delivered a spirited dance number. Older grandsons James and Michael Ewart, unable to leave their high school classes in New York, sent their warm video greetings.
All eyes were on the golden couple as they cut their exquisite three-layer white and gold anniversary cake. When Paquito and Joyce took to the dance floor for the traditional couple dance, their grandson Alex, who is one and a half years old, spontaneously joined them, delighting the guests with his adorable and uninhibited actions, earning cheers from everyone.
Special Highlights
A highlight of the celebration was the inclusion of a Bingo game, a nostalgic nod to how Paquito and Joyce first met during a Bingo social attended by students of Ateneo and Maryknoll. Paquito's close friend Bogie Lorenzo provided a lively narration of this charming incident, adding a personal touch to the festivities. The evening continued with dancing, energized by the lively music of the Renaissance Band.
This beautiful night served as a memorable tribute to five decades of love and partnership, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends from near and far.
