Cedez Angel Bayron Crowned Miss Juana 2026, Emphasizing Service and Inspiration
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office – Central Visayas (DSWD 7) successfully hosted the Miss Juana 2026 pageant on March 27, 2026, as a key event in the National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) 2026. This competition, focused on empowering women, was a collaborative effort involving five centers under the Center and Residential Care Facilities (CRCF).
Uniting Centers for Women's Empowerment
Participants included representatives from the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), Regional Haven for Women (RHW), Home for Girls (HFG), Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II (AVRC II), and Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) for Girls. These groups gathered to honor the strength, dignity, and abilities of women and girls under their care, creating a platform for recognition and support.
Beyond the Crown: A Vision of Service
Cedez Angel Bayron was selected as Miss Juana 2026, not just for her title but for her inspiring vision and determination to serve others. The event opened with a message from Ms. Anavyl A. Reyes, Social Welfare Officer II and Supervising Social Worker at the Regional Haven for Women, who highlighted an evening filled with courage, dignity, and unity. This was followed by presentations from candidates representing RHW, HFG, AVRC II, and RRCY for Girls, each sharing personal stories and talents.
Competition Highlights and Judging
The competition was divided into four segments: career showcase, talent presentation, evening gown, and question-and-answer portion. In each round, candidates demonstrated confidence, purpose, and heartfelt effort. The career showcase was particularly memorable, as participants discussed their dreams and journeys that shaped them.
A panel of judges, including Elaine Mae A. Gabutan, Jofem Daryll R. Puerto, Carl Dave Black Ang, and Jeffrey Jay Layuguin, evaluated the performances. Ultimately, Bayron, a client of AVRC II with a visual disability, was crowned Miss Juana 2026.
Emotional Support and Key Messages
Her victory was met with emotional support from the audience, especially after her powerful message: “True strength is not in what we see, but in how far we are willing to go—even in the dark.” Ms. Kaye C. Anor, Administrative Psychometrician II at RHW, emphasized that the event aimed to showcase women's strength, noting that despite challenges, women can thrive through confidence, talent, and determination.
A Broader Mission of Empowerment
Miss Juana 2026 reflects DSWD 7's ongoing efforts to provide spaces where women can express themselves, be honored, and be strengthened, regardless of life circumstances. More than a competition, it serves as a statement that every woman possesses strength and potential worthy of recognition and value.
