Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste has called on Congress to investigate the alleged connection between Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and Construction Workers Solidarity party-list Rep. Edwin Gardiola. According to Leviste, the attacks against him began after he investigated Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) projects in Batangas and companies linked to the Gardiola family.
The lawmaker asserted that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. should also examine whether Gardiola has support from within Malacañang, especially now that Recto holds a high position in the government. Leviste added that he would request time in Congress to present what he described as the duo's alleged modus operandi, alongside sharing a photo of a meeting that he claimed is related to political matters.
As of this report, Recto and Gardiola have not issued official statements, although Recto commented on Leviste's post and called the allegations "crazy."
