A father in Barangay Kinasang-an, Cebu City, has decided to push through with filing a case against his own son, even after the latter apologized, following an attack with a wooden plank at their home.
Victim Identified
The victim, Ernesto Dacay, 49, sustained bruises and swelling on various parts of his body from the incident that occurred on June 12.
According to the father, he has long endured the misbehavior of his 23-year-old son, Lawrence Dacay, who he claims has been addicted to illegal drugs since childhood.
Ernesto revealed that his son has been imprisoned and sent to rehabilitation multiple times, but he remains unchanged and returns to his vice.
"I am depressed by his actions. We have had him imprisoned and rehabilitated many times, but he still doesn't change. Among my five children, he is the only one who is this problematic," the father said.
Incident Details
Investigation shows that the father was merely reprimanding his son for acting out, but the suspect became angry and attacked the victim using a two-by-two piece of wood.
When the suspect does not get what he wants, he goes wild and hurts his father. The suspect admitted that he was angry because his father did not give him money to buy food.
The suspect is now facing charges of Attempted Parricide.
