Major Police Operation Nets 134 Wanted Persons Across Negros Island Region
A comprehensive 10-day law enforcement campaign across the Negros Island Region has resulted in the arrest of 134 wanted individuals, including 37 classified as most wanted persons. The Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) was conducted by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-NIR from February 4 to 14, 2026, targeting various criminal activities throughout the region.
Multi-Faceted Anti-Crime Operations Yield Significant Results
According to official records from PRO-NIR, the 134 arrests corresponded directly to 134 separate operations conducted during the campaign period. Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, chief of the PRO-NIR Public Information Office, confirmed that all suspects were apprehended during coordinated anti-criminality operations executed by multiple police units.
The participating units included:
- Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO)
- Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NORPPO)
- Siquijor Police Provincial Office (SPPO)
- Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO)
Comprehensive Campaign Against Various Criminal Activities
Beyond the warrant arrests, PRO-NIR intensified its anti-illegal drug operations with 78 separate actions that led to the apprehension of 83 drug personalities. Authorities confiscated approximately 625.9 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P4,249,320. All drug suspects face charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In parallel firearms enforcement efforts, police conducted 88 focused operations that resulted in:
- Arrest of 20 individuals
- Confiscation of 20 loose firearms
- Recovery of 5 explosives
- Voluntary surrender of 64 unlicensed firearms
The anti-illegal gambling component of the campaign saw 39 operations that led to the arrest of 104 individuals and the seizure of P18,097 in bet money.
