The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, together with the Mabolo Police Station, arrested another drug personality during a buy-bust operation on Thursday evening, April 30, 2026, at 3:38 AM in the parking area of an establishment in Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City.
PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the suspect as alias Jerry, 41, a resident of the same barangay. Confiscated from him were seven packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 60 grams, with an estimated average market value of PHP 408,000, along with the buy-bust money.
The seized evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Laboratory for chemical analysis. According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA 7, the suspect had been under case buildup for three weeks after information was obtained from a confidential informant.
Based on the suspect's statement, he could sell between 200 to 500 grams of shabu weekly from his supplier. Alias Jerry had previously been arrested in 2019 for illegal drug possession during a checkpoint but was released after posting bail.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him.
