PNP Mobilizes Over 11,000 Police Officers for Major Event Security

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced a significant security deployment, with more than 11,000 police officers set to be assigned to provide protection for the upcoming Trillion Peso March Part 3 and other related activities. This move aims to ensure the safety of participants and the general public, as confirmed by the PNP on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Emphasis on Coordination and Preparedness

In a statement, PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. highlighted the critical importance of coordination and thorough preparation as the police force strengthens its readiness for large-scale gatherings. These events are expected to include prayer rallies and indignation rallies on February 22 and 25, with participation anticipated to reach up to 50,000 individuals.

"It is our duty to ensure that every Filipino has the freedom to express themselves and assemble peacefully—safely and without fear," Nartatez stated. "We are committed to proactive, visible, and responsive policing during these events. Safety is our top priority, so we appeal to everyone to cooperate with the police."

Enhanced Operational Planning

To further bolster coordination efforts, the PNP will conduct a coordination conference in the coming week. This will coincide with the processing of permits and the finalization of operational plans in collaboration with event organizers.

"We urge participants and the public to follow safety protocols and guidelines. Our goal is a safe and orderly event, while we honor the legacy of People Power," Nartatez added.

Strategic Deployment Under EMPO Framework

As part of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) under the PNP Focused Agenda, the deployment of personnel will be based on robust district coverage. Key districts leading this effort include:

  • Quezon City Police District
  • Manila Police District
  • Southern Police District
  • Northern Police District
  • Eastern Police District

These forces will be supplemented by personnel from various specialized units, such as:

  1. Regional Headquarters
  2. Regional Intelligence Division
  3. Regional Mobile Force Battalion
  4. Special Action Force

Comprehensive Support Units Activated

In addition to frontline police officers, support units will also be mobilized to ensure a comprehensive security approach. These include:

  • Regional Communications and Electronics Unit
  • Regional Highway Patrol Unit
  • Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit
  • Regional Medical and Dental Unit

This extensive deployment underscores the PNP's commitment to maintaining public order and safety during high-profile events, leveraging both manpower and specialized resources to address potential challenges effectively.
