The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced a significant surge in voter registration for the upcoming November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE). According to official data, more than two million individuals have submitted their applications nationwide, marking a robust civic engagement effort ahead of the crucial local polls.

From October 20, 2025, to February 15, 2026, Comelec received a total of 2,135,181 voter registration applications across all regions of the Philippines. This substantial number underscores the public's active participation in the democratic process, with the electoral body anticipating a final tally of up to four million registrants by the conclusion of the registration period.
Regional Breakdown and Top Performers
Calabarzon emerged as the region with the highest number of applicants, recording an impressive 387,076 registrations. Central Luzon followed closely with 252,067 applications, while the National Capital Region secured third place with 229,634 individuals signing up to vote.
Other regions demonstrating strong registration numbers include:
- Central Visayas: 120,162 applicants
- Bicol Region: 117,812 applicants
- Negros Island Region: 109,509 applicants
- Northern Mindanao: 107,677 applicants
- Davao Region: 107,069 applicants
Special Programs and Regional Variations
The innovative Register Anywhere/Anytime Program, designed to enhance accessibility, has already facilitated 2,937 applications. This initiative reflects Comelec's commitment to streamlining the registration process and encouraging broader voter participation.
It is important to note that the voter registration timeline varies across the country. For most regions, the registration period began on October 20, 2025, and will conclude on May 18, 2026. However, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) follows a distinct schedule, with registration running from February 9 to March 31, 2026. Officials project approximately 100,000 applicants in the BARMM region, highlighting the tailored approach to electoral preparations in this area.
