Kitty Duterte Urges Supreme Court to Resolve Petition for FPRRD Return
Kitty Duterte Urges SC to Act on FPRRD Return Petition

Veronica 'Kitty' Duterte has again called on the Supreme Court to act urgently on pending petitions seeking the return of former President Rodrigo Duterte to the Philippines from International Criminal Court (ICC) custody.

Motion to Resolve

In a 13-page 'motion to resolve,' Kitty argued that the case has been pending before the High Court for over 14 months, and nearly six months since they filed their first urgent motion. She stated that the continued inaction of the Supreme Court undermines the freedom that courts should protect and could lead to a loss of public trust in the judiciary.

Separate Petition

In a separate petition, Kitty, Davao City Mayor Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte, and Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo 'Pulong' Duterte requested that the former President be brought home and presented to Philippine authorities. Kitty also cited a Senate resolution that she said supports protecting Filipinos against alleged illegal arrest or 'extrajudicial rendition' of her father.
