The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has dismissed nine police officers from service, according to a police record. Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, PRO3 director, reported that one Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) and eight Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) in Central Luzon were dismissed. The dismissals were due to administrative cases filed from February to April this year.
Other Administrative Actions
In addition to the dismissals, five PCOs and 22 PNCOs were suspended for various cases they faced. Nine police officers were exonerated, three were reprimanded, and one was demoted. Mendez stated that these actions, including dismissals and suspensions, are part of cleaning the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The public has raised questions about why the names of the dismissed officers and those given corresponding cases were not disclosed. This lack of transparency makes it difficult for the public to know which police officers are not deserving of respect.
Illegal Soy Sauce Factory Raided
Last week, operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Pampanga raided an illegal soy sauce manufacturing facility. The raid resulted in the confiscation of approximately P30 million worth of counterfeit soy sauce in Barangay Sta. Lucia, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
An individual identified as Aldo, believed to be the operator, was arrested by CIDG during the operation. Various equipment used in producing the illegal soy sauce were seized, along with finished products labeled as Mr. Cook soy sauce.
The soy sauce lacked proper documentation and was not registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This raises concerns that the public may be purchasing fake soy sauce that could have adverse health effects.
