Last Monday, Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, director of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), presented 115 members and supporters of the Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon (KRGL). These individuals declared and pledged to no longer support the movement, expressing their desire to return to the government and start anew.
Surrenderes from Various Provinces
The returnees came from different provinces in Central Luzon. Dateline observed that some mothers brought their children to the event. Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane, as chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), attended along with National Intelligence Counter Agency (NIC) Director Ulysses Untalan and representatives from various government agencies such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Firearms Turned Over
Approximately 30 different types of firearms were reportedly surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP). A formal signing of a Pledge of Commitment took place, signifying their withdrawal from the movement and support for peace and lawful governance. The 115 KRGL members also received small amounts of rice and canned goods.
