The Philippine National Police (PNP) has formally revoked Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa's license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) and cancelled the registration of his weapons. The order was signed by PNP-Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) director Brigadier General Jojo Manalad on Tuesday, May 26, based on dela Rosa's pending case before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Dela Rosa holds a Type 5 LTOPF valid until March 10, 2034. The directive also orders him to urgently surrender his 117 firearms to the Supply Accountable Officer of the PNP-FEO or the Regional Civil Security Unit 11 (RCSU 11) for proper disposition.
Dela Rosa is identified as a co-perpetrator with former President Rodrigo Duterte in crimes against humanity before the ICC related to the war on drugs. The ICC issued a confidential arrest warrant against him in November 2025, which was unsealed when he returned to the Senate on May 11 after six months of absence.
The former police chief was placed under Senate protective custody but escaped on May 14 after a shooting incident inside the Senate building that caused chaos. On May 20, the Supreme Court rejected his petition for a temporary restraining order to prevent his arrest. Subsequently, the Department of Justice authorized the PNP and the National Bureau of Investigation to arrest dela Rosa.
