"Well, actually, we just passed it because we want to ease the burden of our motorists and consumers," Del Mar stated, highlighting the growing financial pressures faced by the city's residents.

Del Mar explained that this move is part of the City's broader strategy to find practical solutions to current economic hardships. "We all know that we're facing a very difficult problem lately, so we're looking for ways and means to somehow be in a position to help them," she added. The councilor clarified that the request specifically targets registration fees and does not include penalties for traffic violations, ensuring that enforcement measures remain intact. "No, no, it's a violation, so we should still continue with the violations. But only registration fees," she noted.

To advance the proposal, Del Mar has reached out to both the LTO and the Cebu Provincial Capitol, expressing hope for a positive response. "I didn't indicate the reduction, it should be them who indicate that. We're just hoping that they see a way of giving a solution to the present problem that we're facing right now," Del Mar remarked.

This is just for the resolution, but with this resolution, we could push forward with what should be done next," she explained.
