Angeles City Government Inaugurates Comprehensive Healthy Workplace Program

Mayor Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II spearheaded the official launch of the Healthy Workplace Program, a significant initiative by the Angeles City Health Office aimed at bolstering the welfare of local government employees. The event, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, also marked the grand opening of the Puso Center Employees' Clinic, establishing a more accessible and enhanced healthcare service hub for city hall personnel.

Holistic Health Approach for Government Workforce

Mayor Lazatin emphasized that the Healthy Workplace Program, endorsed by the Department of Health, adopts a holistic strategy to employee well-being. This comprehensive campaign integrates multiple health dimensions, including proper nutrition, physical activity, environmental health, mental health support, immunization, substance use prevention, sexual and reproductive health, tuberculosis prevention, and workplace safety protocols.

The mayor articulated that this program is designed as a sustained, ongoing initiative rather than a transient activity, underscored by its tagline, "Kung Happy ang Workplace, Happy ang Angeleños." Lazatin highlighted the critical importance of maintaining a robust and healthy workforce to ensure the efficient delivery of public services to the community.

These include blood sugar testing, screenings for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis, blood pressure monitoring, blood typing, deworming treatments, and family planning services.

In a show of solidarity and support, Mayor Lazatin personally underwent blood sugar testing and blood typing at the facility, reinforcing the city government's commitment to employee health and wellness.
