In a disturbing incident in Talisay City, four young individuals have been taken into police custody following an unprovoked assault on a 16-year-old boy. The attack occurred at Plaza Ne George in Barangay Poblacion at approximately 3:30 in the early morning on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Victim Reports Assault and Files Complaint
The victim, identified by the alias Harry and residing in Purok Lubi, Barangay Lawaan 3, Talisay City, was accompanied by his older sibling to the Talisay City Police Station to file an official blotter report. According to Harry's account, he was suddenly attacked and beaten by four males, two of whom claimed to be 16 years old, while the other two were 18 years old.
Social Media Video Leads to Suspect's Surrender
Later that same day, at around 9:30 in the evening, one of the suspects, known by the alias Sid and aged 16 from San Pio Village, Barangay Dumlog, voluntarily surrendered at the police station. This action came after a video of the assault circulated widely on social media platforms, making Sid's appearance recognizable to authorities and the public.
Manhunt Operation Results in Arrests
During interrogation, Sid disclosed the identities of his three accomplices, prompting law enforcement to launch a targeted manhunt operation. This effort led to the apprehension of the remaining suspects: alias Mark, 18; alias Clint, 18; and alias Kurt, 16, all residents of Purok Atis, Litmon, Barangay Poblacion. They were captured in Barangay Inayagan, Naga City, at 10:20 p.m. and subsequently transported to the Talisay City Police Station for further investigation.
Legal Charges and Victim's Determination
Authorities have prepared an Attempted Homicide case against the four youths, as the victim has expressed a firm resolve to pursue legal action. The swift police response, aided by social media evidence, underscores the seriousness with which such violent acts are being addressed in the community.
