In a significant blow to illegal drug activities in the region, operatives from the Dumangas Municipal Police Station successfully arrested a high-value individual and seized a substantial quantity of shabu during a meticulously planned buy-bust operation. The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on March 29, 2026, in Barangay Lacturan, Dumangas, Iloilo, marking a critical victory in the ongoing provincial anti-drug campaign.
Details of the Arrest and Seizure
The operation was executed by the Station Drug Enforcement Team under the leadership of Police Major Kenn Albert Lepsia, chief of police. Authorities identified the suspect as alias Okey, a 48-year-old married male laborer and resident of Barangay Lacturan. Classified as a high-value individual involved in illicit drug trade, the suspect had been under police surveillance for about a month prior to the arrest.
During the operation, police confiscated approximately 83 grams of shabu, with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P564,400. This seizure underscores the scale of the suspect's alleged involvement in sourcing illegal drugs from Iloilo City and distributing them within Dumangas, posing a serious threat to community safety.

Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, provincial director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, commended the Dumangas MPS for their successful efforts.
