Japanese Man, 19, Faces Rape and Kidnapping Charges in Cebu
Japanese National Arrested for Rape in Cebu City

A 19-year-old Japanese national is now behind bars and could face a serious case of Kidnapping with Rape following a complaint filed by the mother of his 17-year-old girlfriend. The incident occurred in a rented room along Juan Luna Avenue in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Mother's Quick Action Leads to Rescue

The suspect, identified by the alias 'Suki' and a native of Tokyo, Japan, was swiftly apprehended after the victim's mother, using the alias 'Krisha', sought police assistance. According to the investigation, Suki invited the minor to his room on December 29, 2025, without seeking permission from her parents.

Despite the young girl's pleas to go home, fearing her mother would look for her, the suspect allegedly forced himself on her. The mother was able to locate her daughter's whereabouts because the teenager had previously confided about having a Japanese boyfriend.

Security Guard Assists in Dramatic Rescue

With the crucial aid of a local security guard, the mother successfully rescued her daughter from the room. They immediately proceeded to the Mabolo Police Station to file a formal complaint, leading to the suspect's arrest.

During the investigation, the Japanese national admitted to having a relationship with the victim and claimed the act was consensual. He stated he had no intention of committing a wrongful act but is prepared to face the consequences of his actions.

Serious Legal Consequences Await Suspect

However, based on the complaint and the minor's age, authorities are building a strong case against him. The suspect now potentially faces a grave charge of Kidnapping with Rape, a non-bailable offense that carries severe penalties under Philippine law.

This case highlights the vigilance of parents and the importance of immediate community and police response in protecting minors from exploitation. The Mabolo Police are continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served.
