Major Drug Busts in Davao de Oro: Top Suspect Arrested

Law enforcement agencies in Davao de Oro province launched a major offensive against illegal drugs on Tuesday night, January 6, 2026, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of narcotics and firearms across three municipalities.

Coordinated Strikes Across the Province

According to the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office (DOPPO), synchronized operations targeted drug personalities in the towns of Pantukan, Monkayo, and Maco. The crackdown underscores a renewed and determined campaign to dismantle local drug networks through intelligence-driven and lawful police work.

Top-Priority Target Nabbed in Pantukan

In a significant breakthrough, a top-priority illegal drug suspect was captured in Barangay King King, Pantukan. The operation was a joint effort involving the Pantukan Municipal Police Station, regional and provincial drug enforcement units, intelligence operatives, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Acting on verified information, authorities arrested the suspect without resistance. Confiscated items included sachets of a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, buy-bust money, a mobile phone, and other paraphernalia linked to drug activities. The suspect and evidence are now in police custody for documentation and the filing of charges.

Warrant Service Uncovers Drug Session in Monkayo

Meanwhile, in Monkayo, police operations led to two separate successful interventions. Officers first served a court-issued warrant for a drug-related violation at a residence in Barangay Mt. Diwata. Upon arrival, they discovered several individuals allegedly in the middle of a drug session, leading to immediate arrests.

Four individuals were apprehended, and authorities recovered multiple sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm with ammunition. All are facing charges under Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

In a follow-up operation in the same municipality, police implemented a search warrant at another property, arresting one more suspect and seizing additional sachets of suspected shabu. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Buy-Bust Operation Nets Seller in Maco

The series of arrests extended to Maco, where a coordinated buy-bust operation by the Maco Municipal Police Station, with support from provincial and regional units, successfully apprehended a suspected drug seller. The suspect was caught after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover police operative in a residential area.

Evidence recovered included several sachets of suspected shabu, the marked buy-bust money, and other items connected to drug distribution. The suspect is now detained as police prepare the necessary documents for prosecution.

A Sustained Commitment to Community Safety

Police officials stated that these simultaneous operations highlight the sustained and coordinated efforts of all law enforcement units in Davao de Oro. The primary goals are to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs, protect communities from their harmful effects, and ensure a safer environment through relentless and intelligence-based enforcement.

The successful raids on January 6, 2026, demonstrate a clear message that anti-drug campaigns remain a top priority for authorities in the province.
