Ombudsman Gets Partial Flood Control Report

The Office of the Ombudsman has officially received the partial committee report from former Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairperson Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano confirmed. The report contains findings from the investigation into anomalous flood control projects in the country.

According to Clavano, the information in the report will be immediately forwarded to case teams handling various flood control cases for thorough evaluation and appropriate action. The report specifically names Senators Francis Escudero, Joel Villanueva, and Jinggoy Estrada. Also named are former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, and former House Appropriations Committee Chair Rep. Elizaldy Co.

The committee recommended that the mentioned individuals undergo preliminary investigation, fact-finding investigation, or case buildup due to possible violations of laws such as direct bribery, anti-graft and corrupt practices, and plunder. The Ombudsman is expected to act promptly on the recommendations to ensure accountability.
