CFBJ Power Dash 2025 Raises Funds for Medical Aid

The Cebu Federation of Beat Journalists (CFBJ) successfully organized its second annual fun run event, the Power Dash Powered by Therma Visayas, Inc., on November 8, 2025, at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Race Champions and Top Performers

In the men's 21-kilometer category, Lexter Giahe claimed first place with an impressive time of 1 hour, 24 minutes, and 19 seconds. He was followed by Jocien Guerinoni who completed the race in 1:51:47, and Enrique Demafelis who finished in 1:58:10.

The women's 21K division saw Venus Bendijo dominate the competition with a time of 2:15:40. Chrystal Tariga secured second place at 2:25:12, while Arvie Veloso took third with 2:34:20.

Shorter Distance Categories

In the 15K category, Niel Yu emerged victorious in the men's division with a time of 1:23:40, followed by Adrian Bandong (1:25:11) and Lloyd Solis (1:31:16). The women's 15K top three were Marites Pabuaya (1:33:48), Sharifa Sumbok (1:55:50), and Ritchie Kaimo (1:55:58).

The 10K competition was led by Hermo Branzuela (44:10) in the men's division and Gladys Ylanan (1:11:39) in the women's. Runners-up included Darwin Lucay-Lucay (44:13) and Ethan Jeriel Buyo (54:55) for men, while Sophia Diego (1:14:32) and Noel Lapasara (1:16:02) placed in the women's category.

For the 5K event, Kelvin Boyles topped the men's division with 19:20, followed by Kurt Garces (20:05) and Albert Godinez (21:36). The women's top three were Angelu Villareal (34:29), April Cortes (35:34), and Fern Manigbas (43:58).

Charitable Purpose and Community Impact

The proceeds from this sporting event will be allocated to CFBJ's programs focusing on hospitalization support, medical aid, and bereavement assistance for its members. Additionally, a portion of this year's funds will be directed to victims of Typhoon Tino in Talisay City, demonstrating the organization's commitment to both member welfare and community support during times of crisis.

The successful event highlights the growing popularity of fitness activities in Cebu while supporting important social causes through sports participation.
