The NLEX Road Warriors have made a significant move under new head coach Jimmy Alapag, acquiring sophomore guard Evan Nelle from the Phoenix Fuel Masters. The trade sends Sidney Onwubere to Phoenix, marking Alapag's first roster adjustment since taking over the franchise.

Nelle, a 28-year-old guard, was originally selected by Northport in the second round of the Season 49 draft. However, he was moved to Phoenix after the Titan Ultra replaced Northport as a franchise. In the recent Commissioner's Cup, Nelle averaged 8.08 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
Onwubere's New Chapter
Onwubere, 32, will be joining his seventh team since entering the league in 2017. The trade allows Phoenix to add a veteran presence while NLEX bolsters its backcourt with a young, promising guard.
According to sources within the PBA, the trade was finalized on July 3, 2026, as part of Alapag's strategy to strengthen the Road Warriors for Season 50.
