Coach Tepora described the upcoming fight as a 50-50 contest, highlighting the strengths of both fighters. "This should be a 50-50 fight. Martin is good but Carlo is a veteran that has fought elite opponents," Tepora stated. He further promised that Demecillo would provide a significant challenge to Martin, noting the rigorous training regimen currently underway. "I can promise everyone that Carlo will give Martin a good challenge. We're working hard in training right now. He's been sparring with Mark Sarino, Reycar Auxilio, and Rhonvex Capuloy," Tepora added.

At 29 years old, Carlo Demecillo comes from a family of boxers and has faced numerous elite opponents in his division. His career includes notable bouts against top fighters such as Tasana Salapat, Sho Ishida, Arthur Villanueva, Satoshi Shimizu, and Hisashi Amagasa. As a former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific Youth bantamweight champion, Demecillo has also secured victories against Virgel Vitor, Jess Rhey Waminal, Justine Darap, and Bryl Bayogos. He currently holds a record of 19-12-2, with 11 knockouts.

He is patiently awaiting an opportunity to face Naoya Inoue, who holds all the super-bantamweight belts. Martin is currently ranked No. 2 by the WBO, following Junto Nakatani, who is scheduled to challenge Inoue next month. Additionally, he holds the No. 8 ranking in the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
