The 7-foot-3 NBA veteran Bol Bol became the center of a heated tug-of-war between two PBA teams, TNT and Magnolia, during the current Commissioner's Cup. According to reports, Magnolia attempted to secure Bol's services, but TNT ultimately won the bidding war, landing him as their import player.
Salary Cap and Bonuses
While the PBA imposes a salary cap of approximately $25,000 per month for imports, additional bonuses and perks can significantly increase total compensation. Magnolia reportedly offered up to $90,000 (around PHP 5.4 million) per month, but the deal fell through for reasons that remain unclear. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that Bol may be receiving as much as $120,000 (approximately PHP 7.3 million) per month from TNT, though the team has not verified this figure.
On-Court Performance
Despite high expectations, Bol has not yet propelled TNT to the top of the standings. The team currently holds a 6-4 record and must win their remaining two games to have a chance at entering the Top 4 and securing a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
