Historic BingoPlus Philippine Open Set for Global Spotlight in 2026
The BingoPlus Philippine Open, renowned as Asia's oldest National Open, is poised to enter a transformative new era by joining The International Series 2026 calendar. Scheduled from 12 to 15 November 2026 at the prestigious Manila Southwoods Golf & Country Club, this tournament will leverage over a century of history to become a cornerstone of one of golf's most influential global pathways.
Enhanced Partnership and Competitive Stature
Building on the resounding success of the inaugural International Series event in the Philippines last October, BingoPlus has elevated its involvement from presenting partner to title partner. This strengthened collaboration aims to harness the momentum from 2025, which featured a world-class field including former World No. 1 Dustin Johnson and Major champions like Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel. The tournament now gains enhanced competitive stature, aligning firmly with the pathway to the lucrative LIV Golf League while adding prestige to its storied legacy.
Compelling Storylines and Defending Champions
Adding intrigue to the 2026 event, two defending champions are set to compete in the same field. Miguel Tabuena, a Filipino star and two-time Philippine Open winner (2015 and 2018), returns as a full-time LIV Golf League Wild Card and home champion of the International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus. He could be joined by Julien Sale, the 2025 Philippine Open champion, creating a unique clash on one of the country's grandest stages.
Official Statements on Growth and Opportunity
Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, emphasized the natural progression: "Elevating the BingoPlus Philippine Open onto our 2026 schedule strengthens a historic national tournament while creating greater opportunity for players through our global pathway." Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO of the Asian Tour, noted the decades-long relationship with the Philippine Open, highlighting its rightful place as the biggest golf event in the country and pointing to Miguel Tabuena's rise to the LIV Golf League as evidence of growth.
