Filipino weightlifter Albert delos Santos captured the gold medal at the IWF World Junior Championship held in Ismaila, Egypt. He also set a new junior world record by lifting 187 kilograms in the clean and jerk, securing the gold, and achieved a total of 326 kilograms. Delos Santos outperformed India's Yash Khandagale and Ecuador's Jimmy Lopez.
Delos Santos dedicated his victory to his late father and coach, Alvin Delos Santos, who passed away due to liver cancer. He is currently training under Julius Naranjo, the husband of the Philippines' first Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz.
