Asian Cycling Confederation Applauds Philippines for Successful Hosting of Track Championships

The Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) has extended high praise to the Philippines for its exceptional organization of the 45th Asian Track Championships and 14th Asian Para Track Championships. The events were held at the state-of-the-art Tagaytay CT Velodrome in Cavite, marking a significant milestone for the nation's sporting infrastructure.

Philippines Emerges as a Key Player in Asian Cycling

In a news release dated March 31, 2026, ACC president Dató Amarjit Singh Gill emphasized the Philippines' growing importance in the development of track cycling across Asia. "The Philippines is playing a major role in the development of track cycling in Asia," Gill stated. "What I see is a nation stepping up, investing in world-class facilities, including a 250-meter indoor, homologated velodrome. This clearly places the Philippines among the emerging forces in cycling in Asia."

Gill, who also serves as vice president of the International Cycling Union, presented a plaque of appreciation to PhilCycling president Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino during the Gala Night celebrating the ACC's 33rd foundation anniversary in Tagaytay. "I want to congratulate president Bambol Tolentino for his leadership, his foresight and his vision to make this happen. Well done, the Philippines," he added.

Tolentino, who also heads the Philippine Olympic Committee, expressed immense satisfaction with the hosting experience. "So far, so good, and in terms of hosting, we're on cloud nine," he remarked.
