The Philippine Women’s College (PWC) of Davao and Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) have stormed into the men’s finals, while the University of Mindanao (UM) and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) dominated the women’s semifinals at the Davao School Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Dasafi) Davao league. The thrilling matches took place on February 21, 2026, at Almendras Gym, setting the stage for an intense championship round.
Men’s Division: Thrilling Five-Set Battles
In the men’s division, PWC fought past UM in a five-set thriller, with scores of 19-25, 31-29, 25-20, 22-25, and 15-11. This hard-fought victory showcased the resilience and skill of both teams. Meanwhile, HCDC overpowered JMC in another exciting match, winning 25-16, 25-17, 20-25, and 25-17. Key players Kenn Goc-Ong from PWC and Bryan Tan from HCDC earned Player of the Game honors for their decisive contributions, highlighting their pivotal roles in securing their teams' spots in the finals.
Women’s Division: Dominant Semifinal Performances
The women’s semifinals saw UM defeat HCDC in straight sets, with scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 26-24. AdDU also delivered a strong performance, sweeping JMC 25-17, 25-21, and 25-19. Standout players Rika Sasaki from UM and Saara Taguiran from AdDU claimed Players of the Game recognition for their exceptional attacking and defensive play, demonstrating the high level of talent in the women’s division.

All four teams now turn their focus to the championship round on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, where they will compete for the prestigious Phil Mindanao League title. Looking ahead, Dasafi has announced ambitious plans for a decade-long expansion to build a unified Mindanao regional championship. This initiative includes reinforced conferences with international imports and open tournaments where collegiate teams will face commercial and government-sponsored squads.
V-League VisMin Commissioner Ken Ucang stated on February 19, "Our goal after Davao is Northern Mindanao. Next season, we want to bring in teams from Digos, Tagum, and Panabo to create a truly regional platform." This expansion aims to elevate the competitive landscape of volleyball in the region, fostering greater engagement and development.
