The Army's 53rd Infantry Battalion (53IB), in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda), has launched the CAA Better Life Program to create additional income opportunities for militiamen under its supervision. The initiative was carried out on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Livelihood Skills Training

The program, implemented through a Livelihood Skills Training, aims to strengthen the capabilities of Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit Active Auxiliaries (CAA) by equipping them with practical livelihood and wellness skills. These skills are intended to generate supplementary income, foster personal growth, and promote self-reliance among the participants.

According to a statement from the 53IB released on Thursday, May 28, the activity included lectures and hands-on demonstrations covering basic massage techniques, proper wellness practices, and other potential livelihood opportunities applicable within their communities. Tesda personnel also shared valuable insights on skills development, entrepreneurship, and the importance of continuous learning in improving the quality of life for individuals and their families.
