DOLE Sec. Tolentino Inspects Collapse Site in Angeles

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Acting Secretary Francis Tolentino visited the site where a nine-storey building collapsed in Angeles, Pampanga. According to the secretary, the inspection aimed to determine if there were violations of labor conditions among construction workers.

Previous Violations Found

The regional Labor Office previously stated that in September 2024, the construction site was ordered closed due to observed violations. Among the violations noted was the lack of safety gears that endangered construction workers.

Construction Resumed After Compliance

After one month, construction resumed following the contractor's compliance with safety requirements. The DOLE chief emphasized the importance of ensuring worker safety and adhering to labor standards to prevent such incidents.
