Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival 2026: 45 Hot Air Balloons Set to Soar
Organizers of the Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival, led by Noel Castro and Rambo Nuñez, alongside the local government of Lubao headed by Mayor Esmie Pineda, have officially announced the comprehensive lineup of activities for the highly anticipated event. Scheduled to take place on March 7 to 8 at Pradera Verde, this year's festival promises a spectacular display of hot air balloons and vibrant musical performances.
Expansive Hot Air Balloon Display
A total of 45 hot air balloons are set to grace the skies during the 8th Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival (IBMF). Event Chair Noel Castro revealed the details during a press conference held on Monday, March 2, emphasizing the international flair of the event. "We have colorful balloons in different sizes and special shapes, some of which are coming from 14 countries, so we can assure that the whole family will enjoy," Castro stated enthusiastically.
Of the 45 balloons, 18 are regular-sized with standard shapes, while eight feature special shapes. Among these unique designs are a baby chicken, two bears hugging, a heart, a scuba diver, various cartoon characters, and other animal figures. Additionally, there will be 19 mini hot air balloons, composed of 10 regular and nine special shapes. These mini balloons are remote-controlled and measure approximately one-tenth the size of the regular balloons, which span about 100 square feet.
Castro further explained that 21 balloons are scheduled for morning fly-outs, while four will be tethered for closer viewing. Notably, this year's event has been shortened to two days after seven years of being held for three days, aiming to maximize the experience for attendees.
Star-Studded Musical Lineup
Head event organizer Rambo Nuñez assured maximum entertainment with a dynamic lineup of artists performing at night. On Day 1, attendees can look forward to performances by Jika Marie, Illest Morena, Hev Abi, Kamikazee, Flow G, IV of Spades, and Bamboo. Day 2 will feature Maki, December Avenue, Arthur Nery, Rico Blanco, and Parokya ni Edgar.
Nuñez projected that around 100,000 attendees are expected over the two-day event. "We made sure to provide maximum entertainment to ensure the enjoyment of fans. The two days will be filled with exciting activities, attractions, and, of course, the much-awaited hot air balloons and concerts," he affirmed.
Local Government Support and Safety Measures
Lubao Councilor Jayson Pineda Victorino highlighted the local government unit's commitment to ensuring a smooth and safe festival. He assured ample parking spaces, emergency assistance, and other necessary preparations. Victorino coordinated with other local government units and the Philippine National Police to enhance security and enable quick responses to any eventualities.
"The priority of the local government is the safety of all attendees and, of course, to promote Lubao. We have coordination with municipalities, the Governor, and Vice Governor, and they are very supportive," Victorino explained. He added that around 1,000 locators from Lubao and other parts of Pampanga will be stationed during the event, boosting local livelihoods.
"The best benefit for Lubao residents is that this will uplift their livelihood, especially for small businesses, as they will have booths inside. It will promote their products," Victorino concluded, underscoring the festival's positive economic impact on the community.
