TCH Reopens After Landslide, Caution Advised

The Transcentral Highway (TCH) has been reopened to vehicles following a landslide that occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Balamban Mayor Amos Edwin Cabahug announced the development online, warning that the situation in the area remains dangerous.

He explained that clearing operations are still ongoing. The TCH was initially closed on Saturday afternoon after fallen soil and rocks blocked the road.

"TCH Update: Clearing operations on the landslide debris are still ongoing. The road can now be used, but motorists are advised to proceed with extra caution due to possible hazards and limited road access," according to his post.

Cabahug urged travelers to remain vigilant as local disaster response teams continue to clear the remaining soil and rocks from the highway.

"Please drive safely and stay alert," the mayor added.
