Motorcyclist Succumbs to Injuries After Imus Road Collision in Cebu City
A tragic road incident claimed the life of a young man in Cebu City this week. The victim, identified as 23-year-old John Patrick Bacatan, a resident of Barangay Bulacao Pardo, Cebu City, passed away following a motorcycle crash on Imus Road.

The accident occurred in Barangay Day-as at approximately 3:00 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. According to initial reports from the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), Bacatan was riding a Yamaha Mio motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle then collided with a center island along Imus Road.
Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the scene, which revealed that the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed prior to the crash. The impact of the collision was severe, causing the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle and onto the cemented roadway.
Emergency Response and Fatal Outcome
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were dispatched to the location and promptly transported Bacatan to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) for urgent medical attention. Despite the efforts of the emergency responders and hospital staff, doctors at CCMC declared him dead on arrival.
