Assumption School Alumni Moms Form Volleyball Team ASD
A few months ago, a majority of Assumption School alumni members formed their own volleyball team to focus on physical fitness and bonding. Calling their team ASD, the players include Lucille "Amay" Isidro (businesswoman), Ma. Chriscelle "Marya" Reyes (government employee), Juliet "Jules" Calledo (businesswoman), Cleo "Kleng" Albay (teacher), Mary Joy "Joy" Briones (farmer), Joan Ann Lorraine "Rain" Arpafo (pastry chef), Ann Rea "Rheanne" Porticos (doctor), Babynel "Babes" Macias (housewife), Arlene "Lyn" Isip (entrepreneur), and Joy Bontia (housewife).
Friendly Tournament Sponsored by Ralyn Homecare
The recent friendly tournament I was invited to watch was sponsored by Ralyn Homecare, a family business for care assistance abroad. Each team came prepared to serve and conquer, while fun and laughter ensued amidst short cheers. Volleyball provides an excellent full-body workout, improving agility, hand-eye coordination, and heart health. The dynamic nature of the sport engages every core muscle through sprints, directional changes, jumping, and diving, releasing endorphins that boost mood.
Volleyball as a Fitness and Social Outlet for Moms
Volleyball is an incredibly healthy sport for both men and women, delivering a full-body workout and mental relief from daily duties. Local moms over 40 build health, camaraderie, and community by establishing regular sports activities. According to the team members, volleyball is an ideal fitness outlet and a good venue for socialization, providing an opportunity to form friendships beyond the "mom mode." Interested in joining? Or maybe you can create teams in your neighborhood, too.
