Basilan's 4th Most Wanted Arrested in Lamitan

Police arrested the fourth most wanted person in Basilan province on June 21, 2026, in Sitio Tabo-Tabo, Bulingan village, Lamitan City, ending a manhunt that lasted more than a year.

Suspect Identified

Police Lieutenant Colonel Elmer Solon, Lamitan City police chief, identified the suspect as alias Tompong, 25. The arrest took place around 6 p.m. Sunday during a joint law enforcement operation.

Tompong had a standing warrant of arrest for murder with no recommended bail, issued by a court in Isabela City, Basilan, on March 10, 2025.

Police Commitment

Solon commended the operating team for the successful implementation of the arrest warrant. He reiterated the Lamitan City Police Station's commitment to pursuing wanted persons and upholding the rule of law.

"The arrest of wanted persons, particularly those charged with serious crimes, reflects our unwavering commitment to public safety and justice," Solon said in a statement.

Joint Operation

Tompong was arrested by joint personnel from the Lamitan City Police Station, the First Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14-B.

Solon said they will continue to work closely with partner units to ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are brought before the courts and held accountable under the law.
