The PDEA in BARMM identified the slain suspect as alias Nhadz, a 28-year-old resident of Benasing village in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato. According to official statements, the shootout erupted in Simsiman village, Pahamudin, within the Special Geographic Area (SGA) of BARMM, when Nhadz sensed he was dealing with anti-narcotics operatives during the transaction.

"During the consummation of the transaction, the suspect sensed he was dealing with anti-narcotics operatives, resisted arrest, and engaged law enforcement officers in a shootout," the PDEA-BARMM reported. "He sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician."

Authorities seized significant evidence from the scene, including:

  • Approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000
  • A caliber .45 pistol with ammunition

The PDEA-BARMM further disclosed that Nhadz was reportedly engaged in illegal drug distribution across nearby towns within the SGA, Maguindanao del Norte, and extending into North Cotabato, highlighting the regional impact of his activities.
