In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 has successfully launched a series of coordinated operations across Central Visayas, resulting in the seizure of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.3 million within just 24 hours.
Operation Details and Arrests
According to official data released by PRO 7, from 6:00 AM on April 21, 2026, to 6:00 AM on April 22, 2026, law enforcement agencies executed 14 anti-illegal drug operations. These efforts led to the apprehension of 15 individuals, including one identified as a High-Value Individual (HVI), while the remaining 14 are newly identified drug personalities.
Confiscated Drugs and Regional Breakdown
The operations yielded a total of 192.07 grams of suspected shabu, with a standard drug price calculated at P1,306,076. The breakdown of seizures across key areas in Central Visayas is as follows:
- The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) recorded the largest haul, confiscating 135.30 grams of shabu valued at P920,040.
- The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) followed with 53.62 grams seized, amounting to P364,616.
- The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) recovered shabu worth over P21,000.
Leadership and Community Appeal
Police Brigadier General Arnold Abad, the acting Regional Director of PRO 7, commended the dedication and relentless efforts of his personnel in their ongoing campaign to ensure peace and order in the region. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in combating illegal activities.
Abad urged residents of Cebu, including parents, teachers, business owners, and youth, to stand firm and protect the future of Central Visayas by actively assisting authorities. He called for vigilance and reporting of any suspicious or illegal activities within their communities to help maintain safety and security.
