Negros Police Seize P136,000 Shabu in Talisay Drug Bust

The Police Regional Office in Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) executed a successful drug bust on April 14, 2026, resulting in the seizure of shabu valued at approximately P136,000. The operation took place in Purok Rosas, Barangay Zone 6, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, marking a significant blow to local illicit drug activities.

Arrest and Recovery Details

During the bust, authorities apprehended a 35-year-old laborer known as alias Chu, who resides in Barangay Zone 6. The arrest occurred after Chu allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer in Purok Paraiso. From the suspect, law enforcement recovered multiple plastic sachets containing around 20 grams of shabu, along with marked money used in the transaction.

Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, chief of the PRO-NIR Public Information Office, emphasized the agency's unwavering dedication to aggressive, intelligence-driven anti-drug operations. She stated that these efforts are crucial for disrupting drug networks and capturing those involved in the illegal trade. Malong highlighted that the ongoing success of their campaign relies heavily on active community support and cooperation, as well as the prompt reporting of drug-related activities, all aimed at fostering a safer and drug-free Negros Island Region.
