Cebu Landmasters and NTT UD Asia Forge Ahead with Major Pasig City Development
In a significant move for the Philippine real estate sector, leading Visayas and Mindanao developer Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI) is deepening its collaboration with NTT UD Asia Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan's NTT Urban Development Corporation. The partners are set to launch a major mixed-use residential and retail project along a key corridor in Pasig City, signaling CLI's strategic expansion into the National Capital Region (NCR).
Strategic Expansion and Partnership Strengthening
The venture will be executed through CLI Luzon Ventures Inc., leveraging CLI's proven execution track record and market expertise while reinforcing its leadership in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. This marks the second Philippine project for the partners, following their successful collaboration on The Wave Towers at Cebu IT Park in 2024. The renewed alliance underscores their continued confidence in shared strategies, execution capabilities, and long-term growth outlook in the country's dynamic urban landscape.
CLI plans to launch the Pasig development by the end of 2026. The multi-phase project will feature eight Japanese-inspired residential towers integrated with retail components. Key highlights include efficient layouts, sustainable design principles, and curated amenities aimed at enhancing livability and boosting property value for residents and investors alike.
Leadership Perspectives on Growth and Quality
Jose Soberano III, chairman and CEO of Cebu Landmasters, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, "This collaboration with NTT UD Asia represents a defining step in Cebu Landmasters' evolution as a national developer." He highlighted that the Luzon expansion reflects deep mutual trust and a shared commitment to quality, discipline, and long-term value creation in the highly competitive NCR market.
From NTTUD's perspective, Kou Ikeda, president and CEO, expressed admiration for CLI's extensive experience, stakeholder care, and alignment with Japanese standards. He noted, "We aim to apply expertise gained from our operations in Japan and overseas to develop projects that are closely connected to local communities, fostering sustainable urban growth." NTTUD, a global operator in residential, office, and mixed-use projects under the NTT, Inc. conglomerate, views this as its second collaboration in the Philippines, signaling long-term confidence in the country's urban expansion and housing demand.
Background and Future Outlook
Founded in 2003, CLI has delivered over 132 projects across 18 cities, encompassing residential, office, hotel, mixed-use, and township developments. This expanded alliance supports CLI's geographic diversification strategy, positioning it as a forward-looking national developer poised to capitalize on emerging opportunities in key urban centers.
The partnership not only highlights the growing synergy between Philippine and Japanese real estate expertise but also sets a precedent for future collaborations aimed at addressing urban housing needs through innovative and sustainable development practices.
