The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has announced that fair weather conditions will dominate the entire country on Monday, April 6, 2026. According to weather specialist Chenel Dominguez, most regions can expect warm temperatures, particularly during the midday hours.
Temperature and Heat Index Predictions
Forecasted temperatures are set to reach significant highs in several key areas. Tuguegarao is anticipated to experience the peak temperature of 35°C, while Zamboanga and Davao are expected to see highs of 34°C. Dominguez emphasized the heat index, which measures the perceived temperature when humidity combines with actual air temperature, is projected to peak at a concerning 42°C in Dumangas, Iloilo.
Metro Manila and Localized Conditions
In parts of Metro Manila, the heat index could range between 37°C to 38°C, indicating potentially uncomfortable conditions for residents. Additionally, isolated rain showers may occur due to localized thunderstorms, though these are not expected to disrupt the overall fair weather pattern.
Wind, Seas, and Disturbance Monitoring
Dominguez confirmed that no weather disturbances are currently being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, ensuring stable conditions. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are forecasted to prevail across the archipelago, contributing to the generally calm weather outlook.
This forecast highlights the importance of staying hydrated and taking precautions against heat-related illnesses, especially in areas with elevated heat index values. PAGASA continues to advise the public to monitor updates for any changes in weather conditions.
