Government Agencies on Full Alert
In an official statement, President Marcos urged citizens to remain calm but vigilant, emphasizing the critical importance of preparation to minimize potential damage from the approaching weather disturbance. All government agencies are now operating at full capacity and have been instructed to take immediate action to protect communities in the storm's path.
The President specifically called on the public to heed announcements from their local government units and continue monitoring weather updates regularly. "Follow the advisories of your LGU and evacuate immediately if you reside in high-risk areas. Prepare your essential needs and stay tuned to official announcements," Marcos stated.
Transportation and Evacuation Measures
The administration has implemented concrete measures to facilitate evacuation and emergency response. The Department of Transportation and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board have prepositioned buses and trucks to assist in evacuating individuals who might be affected by the typhoon.
Simultaneously, multiple agencies including the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Public Works and Highways, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine Coast Guard have deployed their rescue vehicles, lifeboats, and relief goods to vulnerable areas ahead of the storm's arrival.
