PAGASA Forecasts Warm, Humid Weather Nationwide with Isolated Rains
Warm, Humid Weather Forecast with Isolated Rains

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather forecast for Monday, indicating that warm and humid conditions will prevail across most parts of the country. This weather pattern is attributed to the prevailing easterlies, which are influencing atmospheric conditions nationwide.

Potential for Isolated Rains and Severe Weather

According to weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio of PAGASA, isolated rains are still possible, particularly during the afternoon or evening hours. These localized showers could intensify into severe thunderstorms, posing risks such as flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas. Residents are advised to stay alert and monitor updates from official sources.

Temperature Projections for Key Cities

PAGASA has provided specific temperature forecasts for various cities. Tuguegarao is expected to experience the highest temperature, reaching up to 34 °C. Davao and Zamboanga are forecast to have temperatures of up to 33 °C. In Metro Manila, Legazpi, Puerto Princesa, Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban, temperatures could climb to 32 °C, contributing to the overall warm and humid feel.

Wind and Coastal Conditions

Wind patterns are projected to vary across regions. Northern Luzon will see moderate winds and moderate coastal waters. In other areas, winds will be light to moderate, with seas ranging from slight to moderate. These conditions are typical for this time of year and are not expected to escalate into more severe maritime disturbances.

No Tropical Cyclone Formation Monitored

In a reassuring note, Aurelio confirmed that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for potential tropical cyclone formation. This reduces the likelihood of major storm systems developing in the near term, although the public should remain cautious of the isolated weather events mentioned earlier.

The forecast underscores the importance of staying informed through PAGASA's official channels, especially for those in flood-prone or landslide-susceptible regions. As weather patterns can shift rapidly, continuous monitoring is recommended to ensure safety and preparedness.
