Data released by the Comelec reveals that a total of 17,525 individuals submitted their applications for voter registration in Barmm from February 9 to February 19, 2026. This robust turnout underscores the region's active engagement in the democratic process ahead of the crucial local elections.

Comelec Spokesman Director John Rex Laudiangco highlighted the positive response, stating in a television interview, "Barmm welcomed the resumption of voter registration, which opened last February 9." His remarks emphasize the enthusiasm and participation observed in the region during this early phase.

Breakdown of Registration Numbers by Area

The registration figures show notable variations across different areas within Barmm. Maguindanao del Norte led the way with the highest number of applicants, recording 4,654 individuals. Following closely, Maguindanao del Sur reported 3,428 applicants, while Basilan saw 2,911 people register.

Other regions also contributed significantly to the total. The Special Geographic Area accounted for 2,353 applicants, Tawi-Tawi had 2,151, and Lanao del Sur registered 2,028 individuals. This distribution reflects a widespread interest in voter participation throughout the autonomous region.

Registration Schedule and Details

Voter registration activities in Barmm are being conducted on a structured schedule to accommodate residents. The process runs from Mondays to Saturdays, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., at all Offices of Election Officers or designated satellite registration centers. This accessibility aims to facilitate smooth and efficient registration for all eligible voters.

The registration period in Barmm commenced on February 9, 2026, and is set to conclude on March 31, 2026. This timeframe provides ample opportunity for additional individuals to register and participate in the upcoming elections, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive electoral roll.
