In a significant move to bolster community safety, officials in Pampanga, spearheaded by Governor Lilia Pineda, have successfully distributed the third batch of barangay patrol units to various municipalities across the province. This initiative, a collaborative effort between the provincial government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 3, under the leadership of Director Venus Rebuldela, underscores a commitment to enhancing local security and public welfare.
Distribution Details and Municipal Impact
A total of 51 patrol units were formally turned over to barangays in key towns, with specific allocations as follows: Minalin received 11 units, Apalit got 12, Sto. Tomas was provided with 7, and Bacolor benefited from 21 units. This latest distribution brings the cumulative number of patrol units handed out to 247, marking steady progress toward the overarching goal of covering 505 barangays throughout Pampanga. The provincial government has estimated the total value of these distributed tricycles at approximately P29.6 million, highlighting a substantial investment in grassroots security infrastructure.
