Initial Distribution in Caubian Island
On Monday, April 13, 2026, a total of 90 sacks of rice arrived at Caubian Island, which is part of Olanggo Island in Lapu-Lapu City. The rice was sold at a subsidized rate of P20 per kilogram, making it accessible to residents facing economic challenges. It is estimated that approximately 429 beneficiaries benefited from this initial distribution.
Priority Groups for Assistance
The program specifically targeted priority groups to ensure that the most vulnerable members of the community received support. These groups included senior citizens, beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), solo parents, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). Expansion to Other Islands
Following the successful distribution in Caubian, the program is set to expand to neighboring islands. An additional 116 sacks of rice will be delivered to Pangan-an and Caohagan islands.
