The arrest occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on February 24, 2026, in Barangay Agbago, Ibajay, Aklan, marking a pivotal moment in the region's fugitive pursuit efforts.

The operation was a joint endeavor spearheaded by the Aklan Police Provincial Office (Akppo) under the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6). Participating units included the Ibajay Municipal Council Police Station, the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company, the RIU in Western Visayas – Provincial Intelligence Team Aklan, and the Aklan Trackers Team. This collaborative effort underscores the strategic approach to apprehending high-priority targets across the province.
The suspect, a 56-year-old resident of Ibajay known by the alias Nico, was taken into custody without incident. Authorities promptly informed him of the nature of his arrest, and he is currently detained at the Ibajay Municipal Council Police Station, awaiting formal turnover to the court. His capture is linked to a warrant issued on February 24, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 8 in Kalibo, Aklan, with a recommended bail set at P120,000.

Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6, praised the operating units for their diligence and effectiveness.
