Pasay Police Apprehend Primary Suspect in Gruesome Manila Dismemberment Murder
Authorities have successfully arrested the main suspect involved in the brutal killing and dismemberment of a man, whose body parts were discovered inside a blue drum discarded in Binondo, Manila. The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in a case that has shocked the local community.
Details of the Arrest and Investigation
In an official statement, Pasay City Police Chief Police Colonel Joselito de Sesto confirmed that the 32-year-old Taiwanese national was taken into custody at approximately 1:30 p.m. on February 19, 2026. The arrest occurred within a casino-hotel located in Pasay City, following a coordinated effort by law enforcement.
Police Colonel de Sesto emphasized that the successful capture was achieved through a combination of factors: the cooperation of the suspect's live-in partner, the assistance provided by hotel management, and the relentless, around-the-clock dedication of Pasay police personnel. Officers pursued numerous leads and tracked the suspect across various locations before making the arrest.
After being apprehended, the suspect was transported to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for formal documentation. Subsequently, he was taken to Pasay City General Hospital for a comprehensive physical examination. The suspect remains under police custody, and inquest proceedings are being prepared for submission to the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office.
Evidence and Crime Scene Findings
Investigators recovered closed circuit television (CCTV) footage that captured the suspect removing the blue drum from his condominium unit. The footage shows the suspect receiving assistance from one of the security guards during this process. Further investigation revealed that the suspect rented a van specifically to dispose of the drum, which contained the victim's dismembered remains.
Authorities also reportedly seized a chainsaw and a chopping knife, which are believed to have been used by the suspect to dismember the victim's body before placing it into the drum and discarding it in Manila. These tools are now key pieces of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
In a crucial development, Police Colonel de Sesto disclosed that the victim has been positively identified through a membership shopping card found at the scene. However, the motive behind this gruesome killing remains under active investigation, as police continue to piece together the events leading up to the crime.
The case has drawn significant attention due to its violent nature and the international involvement of the suspect. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as they work to ensure justice is served.
