Yakult 10 Miler Cebu Leg Aims for 3,000 Runners in August 2026
The Yakult 34th 10 Miler is set to take place on August 23, 2026, at SM Seaside City Cebu, with an anticipated participation of around 3,000 runners. This exciting fun run, featuring four distinct race categories, was officially launched on Wednesday, February 18, during a press conference held at Seda Central Bloc Cebu within Ayala Center Cebu.
Launch Event and Organizers
The launch was spearheaded by key executives from Yakult Philippines, Inc., including president Alberto Dy Sun, executive vice president Yasuyuki Yufune, and vice president Michael Eric Ong. They were joined by organizers Julius and Justine Em of HyveSports, who are coordinating the event to ensure a memorable experience for all participants.
Race Categories and Registration Details
The race will offer four categories to cater to runners of varying skill levels:
- 16K race with a registration fee of P1,250
- 10K race with a registration fee of P950
- 5K race with a registration fee of P650
- 3K race with a registration fee of P650
This structure allows both seasoned athletes and casual runners to join in the fun, promoting inclusivity and community engagement.
Prizes and Incentives for Participants
To motivate participants, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category. Additionally, all runners who complete the race will receive medals and certificates, providing a tangible reward for their efforts and achievements.
Future Prospects and National Series
Julius Em, one of the organizers, highlighted that this Cebu leg is a modest start, aiming for 3,000 participants. He expressed optimism that Cebu could potentially surpass the attendance records set in Manila in future editions of the event. The Cebu run is part of a broader nationwide series of Yakult races scheduled for 2026, with the first leg in Davao City on July 12 and the Manila leg on October 18, further expanding the event's reach and impact across the Philippines.
